About the album Santana

On Saturday, August 16, 1969, from 14:00 to 14:45, the Woodstock stage hosts the band Santana, who deliver one of the best performances of the entire festival and win over the crowd. On August 22, the band's first album is released, bearing the band's name as its title. The album had been recorded since May of the same year. This coincidence works in favor of the band, and immediately Santana achieves success.

The Santana album is filled with Latin rock, jazz fusion, and psychedelic rock moments. Here are the compositions of Jingo, Soul Sacrifice, and Evil Ways, musical pieces that would accompany the band throughout their long journey.

The album remained in the Billboard Top-200 for 108 weeks (!), while its sales in the United States alone are estimated at 2,000,000.
