About the album Spectrum
In 1973, Billy Cobham left the Mahavishnu Orchestra and started his solo career. His first album would be Spectrum, an album full of jazz fusion, where Billy Cobham unfolds and spreads his talent everywhere, along with the experience he had gained working with artists like Miles Davis.
Despite its almost negligible commercial impact at the time, Spectrum is one of the finest examples of fusion music. All compositions are by Cobham, who also oversees the production of the album. The recordings took place over three days in May 1973.
In the United Kingdom, 60,000 sales have been recorded, while in the United States, Spectrum reached No. 24 the year after its release.
