About the album Tales From Turnpike House

Fifteen years after their creation, the English band Saint Etienne come in 2005 to offer their music fans one of their most interesting and well-crafted albums, Tales From Turnpike House, which is their seventh studio album.

In reality, Turnpike House is a twenty-story apartment block in London built in 1965. Saint Etienne creates small everyday stories imagined to occur within these apartments. These stories are wrapped in the band's wonderful dream pop, as well as with Sarah Cracknell's melodic voice.

Although the album received positive reviews at the time of its release, it did not manage to excel in sales. In Britain, it only reached No. 72
