About the album Jinx

In May and June of 1981, Rory Gallagher will find himself in Cologne and will record the Jinx at Dierks Studios. The Jinx will become the last album released by the Irish guitarist and songwriter from Chrysalis Records. The album will take quite some time to be released as this will happen in April of 1982. From then on, Gallagher will release a new album after five years.

The Jinx is a typical blues rock record, which simply adds to the previous good albums of the artist. The standout songs were Jinxed and Easy Come, Easy Go. Gallagher's main collaborators in the recording of Jinx were Gerry McAvoy on bass and Brendan O'Neill on percussion.

The album's production is done by Rory Gallagher himself, while all compositions except for Ride On Red, Ride On are his own.
