Against The Grain by Rory Gallagher
About the album Against The Grain
Rory Gallagher's fifth studio album, Against The Grain, "forced" Rolling Stone magazine to rank Gallagher as a guitarist alongside Eric Clapton. This happened at a time when the Irishman's reputation was beginning to grow in the U.S. The release of Against The Grain took place in late October 1975.
Here, Gallagher continues to offer his music fans a dozen good blues rock songs. Apart from I Take What I Want and Out On The Western Plain, which are covers, the remaining eight are new and debut compositions by himself.
Against The Grain was Rory Gallagher's first recording endeavor with Chrysalis Records and became another gold album in his career in Great Britain.
