About the album More

The British band Pulp, with their natural leader at the helm, Jarvis Cocker, are making a big comeback in mid-2025. More becomes Pulp's eighth studio album, released on June 6, 2025. It is their first recording work in 24 years since 2001's We Love Life (!)

Jarvis Cocker described the album as "appropriate for their age," maintaining his classic irony and humor, but with slower rhythms and themes touching on life and mortality. The sound of the album features intense use of strings and a more "gravelly" voice from Cocker. It was recorded in just three weeks, starting on November 18, 2024, at Orbb Studio in Walthamstow, London, with producer James Ford. It is the album they recorded in the shortest time in their career. The 2023 reunion tour sparked the writing of new material, starting with the song Hymn Of The North.

More debuted at No. 1 in Great Britain, receiving rave reviews. It was their first No. 1 in 27 years since 1998's This Is Hardcore. The album is dedicated to their late bassist, Steve Mackey, who is credited as a composer on two songs (Grown Ups and Got To Have Love).
