Your Funeral... My Trial  by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

To Your Funeral… My Trial, the fourth studio album by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, is a combination of gothic rock and art rock. It rightfully holds a prominent place in the band's catalog as it marks a shift towards more melodic compositions without the dark themes of the lyrics, primarily written by Nick Cave, retreating in the slightest.

The album was recorded at Hansa Studios in Berlin. The production was the result of the work of Flood and Tony Cohen, with whom the band would begin a collaboration that would last for many years. The first release of Your Funeral… My Trial was a double EP, but soon after it took the form of a regular LP. It was the last album of the early years of the band that included Barry Adamson, playing bass. He would record again with the Bad Seeds in 2013. Standout tracks from the album include The Carny, Your Funeral My Trial, and Stranger Than Kindness, which was a composition by Anita Lane with Blixa Bargeld.

Your Funeral… My Trial becomes the first album of the band to achieve some notable success on the Australian charts, entering the Top-100 and reaching No.98.
