About the album Kind Of Blue
Within two days, Miles and six other musicians recorded in 1959 one of the most elegant, accomplished, and imaginative jazz music albums. The recordings of Kind Of Blue took place on March 2 and April 22, 1959. Specifically, Miles Davis presents a sample of modal jazz.
Miles Davis gathered his collaborators at the CBS 30th Street Studio in New York and after distributing some diagrams of what they were going to play, the recording began. Kind Of Blue has influenced many subsequent artists, whether in jazz, rock, or even classical music. Among them is Richard Wright of Pink Floyd.
The album has so far sold approximately 6,500,000 copies, and since 2002 it has been among the important recordings that defined and shaped the American Nation, and for this reason, it is part of the National Recording Registry.
