About the album My Favorite Things

My Favorite Things was John Coltrane's third work for Atlantic Records and was released in 1961. The album comes at a time when Coltrane is freeing himself from his collaboration with Miles Davis.

The composition My Favorite Things in its shortened version was released as a single and achieved radio success in the United States of America. The creator himself had stated that it is his favorite composition.

The album's producer was the Turkish-American Nesuhi Ertegun, brother of Ahmet Ertegun, who was the founder and president of Atlantic Records.
