The Arockalypse by Lordi
About the album The Arockalypse
In 2006, Lordi released their third studio album, titled The Arockalypse. This happened in March 2006, two months before their now "legendary" appearance in the Eurovision Song Contest, where they won first place with the song Hard Rock Hallelujah and left all of Europe speechless with both their victory and their stage presence.
However, The Arockalypse did not only include the winning song. It also featured a set of other noteworthy songs, such as The Deadite Girls Gone Wild and Who's Your Daddy. The composition of the songs mainly belongs to the singer and founder of the band, Mr Lordi. There were some special guests in the album who offered their assistance. Bruce Kulick of Kiss, Dee Snider and Jay Jay French of Twisted Sister, and Udo Dirkschneider of Accept.
The first place in Eurovision pushed the album to No. 1 in the countries of Finland, Greece, where the contest was held, and Sweden, while the album reached high positions in the charts of many other European countries. In Germany, The Arockalypse sold 100,000 copies.
