About the album Presence

Presence became the seventh album of Led Zeppelin in 1976. The compositions are primarily by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. This album came at a truly strange time in the career of Led Zeppelin. It was preceded the previous year by the double album Physical Graffiti and a tour for that album with the band reaching the peak of its glory.

However, immediately after the tour, Robert Plant went on vacation to Rhodes, and there he had a very serious car accident from which it took him a long time to recover. The album was recorded with Robert Plant singing in a wheelchair since he couldn't stand on his feet yet. The album was recorded in eighteen days and was the shortest in time the band had ever created. The cover was another work by Hipgnosis.

Presence did not do well commercially compared to the sales of previous works. Apart from significantly fewer sales, the criticism it received was mostly negative. Nevertheless, it reached No.1 in Great Britain and the USA.
