About the album Led Zeppelin III

With their first two albums, Led Zeppelin had created great expectations, so in 1970, Led Zeppelin III became one of the most anticipated albums of its year. The pre-sales of the album in the U.S. alone approached 1,000,000 copies. As soon as the album was released, it became an immediate success and reached No. 1 in both the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The compositions were mainly by the band, but as in previous albums, there were two renditions of traditional folk songs, Gallows Pole and Hats Off To (Roy) Harper. The album's major hits were undoubtedly Immigrant Song and Since I've Been Loving You, which is live recorded in the studio. The album thrilled with the variety of rock music genres it contained. Folk, blues, hard rock, folk rock were all present and in the right proportion. The album was produced by Jimmy Page.

Today it is considered one of the albums that built the legend of Led Zeppelin on a global scale. Its sales have now exceeded 13,000,000 copies, and it is the third most commercially successful album of Led Zeppelin.
