About the album In Through The Out Door

During the last year of the 1970s, a decade which, musically at least, a large part of it belonged to the English band Led Zeppelin, concludes with their eighth album titled In Through The Out Door.

The title of the album is symbolic as they wanted to show their audience the struggle for an exit that they were going through at that time with two major issues that had arisen: the death of Robert Plant's son and the ban on touring in England since they were in "tax exile" wanting to avoid paying high taxes to the British state.

The sound of the album has clearly changed and despite the fact that it is characterized by hard rock sound, in many parts it openly flirts with art rock. In Through The Out Door was recorded in three weeks in Stockholm at ABBA's Polar Studios and it would be the last album for drummer John Bonham before his death in 1980.
