About the album Standing In The Breach

In 2014, the year Jackson Browne released the fourteenth album of his career, he was 66 years old. The album Standing In The Breach is a record that contains ten new compositions by the great American songwriter, which move in the artist's familiar rock musical style, songs full of soul and warmth that balance between low tempo and mid tempo rock compositions, songs that narrate situations and stories.

However, the album opens with the song The Birds Of St. Marks, a song he had written at the age of 18 and had forgotten about its existence. Thus, the song found its way 48 years later (!) The rest of the songs that make up the album are composed by Jackson Browne except for You Know The Night, whose lyrics are by Woody Guthrie, and Walls And Doors, whose lyrics come from the song Muros y Puertas from the 2000 album Nubes by Cuban Carlos Varela, and Browne did the translation for this.

The producers of the album were Jackson Browne and his close collaborator since 1990, Paul Dieter. The album Standing In The Breach reached No. 15 in the United States and No. 31 in Great Britain.
