About the album Hold Out
In 1980, American Jackson Browne released Hold Out, an album whose recordings lasted from the fall of 1979 to the spring of 1980 and took place at The Sound Factory and Record One Studio in California. Jackson Browne and Greg Ladanyi took care of the production of the album.
The musical style of the album is the typical American rock of that era, compositions intended to fill American FM radios. The first single of Hold Out was Boulevard. The vast majority of the album’s songs were composed by Browne himself.
Browne's sixth studio album reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart and remains his only album to have achieved such a feat. Despite the fact that the music critics of that time did not receive it well, the people of the United States – at least – embraced it, and besides reaching No. 1, it initially went gold and by 2001 had become double platinum.
