About the album Seven Tears
The story of the Dutch band Golden Earring begins in 1961 in The Hague, and strangely enough, Seven Tears was their seventh album and was released in 1971, ten years after they started.
Seven Tears mainly contains compositions by the singer and lead guitarist George Kooymans. The songs are primarily progressive rock but don't hesitate to openly flirt with hard rock at certain points. The album was supported by the single She Flies On Strange Wings for which a video clip was made (!)
This particular album was the second consecutive No.1 that Golden Earring experienced in their homeland. The rest of the world would engage with this amazing example of early '70s rock music years later. Notably, the album was not released in the U.S.A.
