About the album Bonded By Blood
The debut album of the Californian thrashers Exodus is recorded in the summer of 1984, but it will be released in the market in April 1985. The title with which it would be released was A Lesson In Violence, but because a suitable idea for the cover could not be found, it changed to Bonded By Blood. This title was used as the name of another Californian thrash metal band twenty years later (!)
At the time of its release, Bonded By Blood was yet another thrash metal album that proved something new was coming to the heavy music scene. The cover of the original edition depicts "good and evil" as Siamese twins. In later editions of the album, the cover was changed and had the name of the band and the album. In this particular album, the singer is Paul Baloff, who was expelled from the band shortly after the promotional tour.
Bonded By Blood initially achieved success in underground circles. Obviously, it never became a huge success, but many fans of the thrash metal scene rank it as highly important as Metallica's Kill 'Em All.
