About the album The Eminem Show
Eminem's fourth studio album, titled The Eminem Show in 2002, arrived as the appropriate continuation of the massive success of The Marshall Mathers LP from 2000. It is no coincidence that these two albums are the most commercially successful of the American rapper.
The album contains compositions that began to take shape from November 2000 to April 2002. The recipe followed here is the well-known one. Endless rap from Eminem with lyrics that criticize the political and social situation in the U.S., full of irony, provocation, and sarcasm. On the other hand, Dr. Dre also makes a dynamic and decisive presence here, while from the various studios where The Eminem Show was recorded, there is a parade of stars from the hip-hop scene of that time who also contribute to making it an explosive album. Besides Dr. Dre, who contributes to the impeccable production of the album, the work of producers Jeff Bass and Mr. Porter is important, while Eminem also participates in the production.
The commercial impact of the album was incredible. As soon as it was released, it reached No. 1 on the Billboard for six weeks. Its sales in the United States alone have reached 12,000,000, while another 9,000,000 copies have been sold worldwide. In Germany, for example, it sold 900,000 copies. Even in small Singapore, sales reached 5,000 copies (!)
