Encore by Eminem
About the album Encore
In November 2004, Eminem released his fifth studio album titled Encore. The rapper's original intention - as depicted on the cover and in the title - was for it to be his last album. However, as we know, the story turned out differently as many more works by Marshall Bruce Mathers III followed.
Five singles stood out from Encore. The first was Just Lose It, while the quintet of singles was completed with the release of Ass Like That. The compositions and production of the album were a collaborative effort of Luis Resto, Dr. Dre, Mark Batson, Mike Elizondo, and Eminem himself. The recording of Encore took place between December 2002 and June 2004 at 54 Sound in Michigan and Trans Continental Studio in Florida. Eminem himself has critiqued Encore and considers it his worst work, as at that time his dependence on substances and alcohol was at its peak.
Despite the fact that album critics were not as favorable towards this work by Eminem - as they had been with his other albums - Encore topped the charts in many countries. It reached No. 1 in the USA, the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, South Africa, Germany, New Zealand, and many other countries. The album's sales have now approached the number of 9,000,000 worldwide.
