About the album Elastica

Elastica come charging from Britain's post-punk scene and collide with britpop. In 1995, they release their debut album titled with their name. Elastica competed equally with Oasis's Definitely Maybe from the previous year in terms of how quickly it became the debut with the most sales in the United Kingdom, where it also reached No. 1 in the country.

Justine Frischmann's distinctive voice was a decisive factor in the album's success. The impressive thing about this album was that Elastica seemed to encapsulate the British and American post-punk scene of the last fifteen years into one record, and the summary was achieved in such a way that it didn't resemble a poor imitation, but rather something contemporary and interesting.

This was the reason the album became gold due to the sales it recorded in the United States of America, Canada, and of course the United Kingdom.
