About the album Dream Evil
After a significant departure from the American band Dio - that of guitarist Vivian Campbell in 1986 - Ronnie James Dio's band returns to discography with its fourth studio album titled Dream Evil, one of the finest albums of the band's long career. The album was released in July 1987, with its recording taking place in the spring of the same year at the Village Recorder studios in Los Angeles.
Ronnie James Dio, in his usual manner, takes on the lyrics of the songs and the production of the album, while the rest of the band contributes to the music of the songs. The album was an excellent example of American heavy metal in the now-classic sense of the term. On the album cover, we see for the last time Murray, the band's mascot. From the album, "All The Fools Sailed Away" stands out, which was also the second single from the album, and its video clip received considerable television broadcast from MTV.
The success of the album followed the fate of Dio's previous works, that is, to achieve greater success in Europe than their homeland, the United States.
