About the album Delta Machine
2013 is the year of release of the thirteenth studio album by Depeche Mode, titled Delta Machine, and it is the completion of the trilogy of albums they recorded with producer Ben Miller. Delta Machine was recorded in California and New York between March and October 2012.
The music belongs to Martin Gore, as well as most of the lyrics. Dave Gahan collaborates with Kurt Uenala, and together they write the lyrics for three songs on the new album. These are Secret to the End, Broken, and Should Be Higher. The latter would become the third single from the album, in which Gahan talks about his struggle with substances and his rehabilitation from them.
Most of the reviews Delta Machine received were positive, and it holds a place among the very good albums by Depeche Mode. It reached No. 2 on the UK chart, No. 6 on the Billboard chart, while the album's sales in Germany, which have always been a good benchmark for the band's records, reached 300,000 copies.
