About the album Some Great Reward

The band of young people from Essex, England, continues its unwavering journey towards glory and establishment in the global pop scene with Some Great Reward of 1984. The fourth work of Depeche Mode is characterized by a more mature voice and performance of Dave Gahan and the use of more samplings than they had used in their previous works.

Some Great Reward and its single People Are People will open the doors to the American market for them, while in this album a fan of the band will also find two more classic - by now - songs of Depeche Mode: Master And Servant and Blasphemous Rumours. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that with this particular record Depeche Mode clearly show how seriously they have taken their efforts. The promotion tour for the album was the longest they had done until then, bringing them to many European countries, where the public's interest in these young Englishmen, who expressed synth-pop in their own way, grew and grew.

The album has reached 1,000,000 copies sold in the USA, while it has sold 250,000 copies in Germany.
