About the album The Sound Οf Perseverance
In 1998, Death released The Sound Of Perseverance, which would be the last album of Chuck Schuldiner's band as the latter shortly afterwards showed the first symptoms from the tumor he had in his brain, something that led to his death in 2001.
The Sound Of Perseverance is an album full of progressive death metal compositions, all of which are creations of Schuldiner except for the last song, which is a cover of Judas Priest's Painkiller. A characteristic of the album is the complexity in composition that often seems to follow the musical paths of jazz fusion (!) The album cover is a creation by the American designer Travis Smith.
This particular album is now among the best heavy metal albums of all time.
