About the album Young, Loud And Snotty
The album Young, Loud And Snotty was released in October 1977 and was the debut of the punk-rock band Dead Boys, a band that was formed in 1975 in Cleveland, Ohio.
With their very first album, the Dead Boys demonstrated that they were not joking and that they wanted to play a leading role in the American punk-rock scene. Young, Loud And Snotty is rightly considered among the “wildest” and “most aggressive” punk albums released in the USA at that time. Most of the album's songs are compositions by Stiv Bators, Cheetah Chrome, and Jimmy Zero. The production of the album, which was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York, was done by Genya Ravan. Among those who contributed to the creation of the album was Bob Clearmountain (!) who played bass on some tracks. The opening song of the album, Sonic Reducer, is one of the tracks that defined the brief journey of the Dead Boys.
The album was released by Sire Records. The CD edition of the album in 1992 included the Not Anymore / Ain't Nothin' To Do (Medley). The album managed to enter the Billboard Top-200, even if it was in the 198th position.
