About the album Cypress Hill

The Californians Cypress Hill are coming to give a different boost to the hip hop scene of the West Coast of the United States. The Latin roots of the members of the group push them to incorporate Latin elements into their compositions and lead the genre called Latin hip hop. Cypress Hill's debut is titled after their name, was released in 1991, and immediately gained recognition and commercial success.

The production of the album's songs was undertaken by DJ Muggs. For the composition of the songs, DJ Muggs, B-Real, and Sen Dog collaborated. The latter two are the performers of the compositions and with the deliberate accent they use, they gave the characteristic tone to Cypress Hill.

The album won over both music critics and the public, as the album's sales have reached 2,100,000 copies, despite the fact that in 1991 it only reached No. 31 on the Billboard. It is the second most commercially successful album of Cypress Hill.
