About the album Born In The U.S.A.
Born In The U.S.A. will be Springsteen's seventh album and is the example of how one can become a global phenomenon with an album. The 30,000,000 sales (17,000,000 in the U.S.) - probably - prove it. The album was recorded from January 1984 to March of the same year and by June 4th it was on the market and starting to sell like crazy.
Springsteen presents to the rest of the world through the lyrics of the songs in Born In The U.S.A. what is really happening in his country in the early '80s. The album in each of its songs, at every moment is a contrast between lyrics and music. The music most of the time is uptempo, while the lyrics of most songs are full of disappointment, problems, and dead ends. Out of the twelve songs on the album, seven were released as singles (!)
The Born in the U.S.A. Tour is one of the most legendary album promotion tours ever held and granted Bruce Springsteen, and his band, the E-Street Band, glory and recognition. The tour started on June 29, 1984, and ended on October 2, 1985. It concluded after 156 concerts. This practically and approximately means that Springsteen and the E-Street Band held a concert every three days for fifteen months (!)
