About the album Darkness On The Edge Of Town
Three years after the success of Born To Run and following legal battles with his former manager Mike Appel, Bruce Springsteen returns with the dynamite called Darkness On The Edge of Town in 1978.
The album overflows with the dynamics of a thirty-year-old who has now taken his career into his own hands. Even the mid-tempo songs express anger, rage, but mainly determination. This is exactly what photographer Frank Stefanko wanted to capture when he was photographing Bruce Springsteen for the cover of Darkness On The Edge Of Town.
In the USA, it reached No. 5. Darkness On The Edge Of Town spent 167 weeks on the Billboard Top-200. In 1985, it re-entered the Billboard Top-200 (No. 167) due to Springsteen's overwhelming and total success in the mid-eighties. It has sold more than 3,000,000 copies.
