About the album Infidels
In 1983, Bob Dylan released the album titled Infidels. With this album, Dylan reached his twenty-second official studio album in his career, which had just completed twenty years. Infidels is a commendable effort by the songwriter and performer to create a work contemporary with the musical reality of the time. The album received positive reviews but failed to restore Bob Dylan to his past glories.
From Infidels, notable tracks include the single Jokerman, Union Sundown, I And I, and Man Of Peace. The album is considered Dylan's return to normalcy after three consecutive albums with their song lyrics being explicitly Christian. The production of the album was handled by Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, who also played guitar on many songs.
Infidels reached No. 20 on the Billboard chart and sold close to 500,000 copies in the United States.
