Christmas In The Heart by Bob Dylan
About the album Christmas In The Heart
In May 2009, Bob Dylan recorded Christmas In The Heart, which is his thirty-fourth official studio album. Dylan chose fifteen songs, hymns, and Christmas carols and recorded them at Jackson Browne's Groove Masters studio.
Regarding his decision to release an album dedicated to Christmas, Dylan stated that despite his Jewish heritage and upbringing, the Christmas holiday was always an integral part of his childhood. All the selections were songs he heard during Christmas time as he grew up in Minnesota. Must Be Santa was the one and only single from the album.
Christmas In The Heart was released in October 2009, reaching No. 23 on the Billboard and No. 40 in the United Kingdom, while climbing to satisfactory positions in charts of many other countries. The initial reviews were not the best, but over the years, the opinion prevailed that Dylan ultimately gave a worthy contemporary breath to these old songs. The proceeds from sales went to charities for the elimination of hunger.
