After the release of Very, the Pet Shop Boys toured South America. The influences from this experience were evident in Bilingual (Spanish & Portuguese language, Latin rhythms, etc.)
Because the commercial success was not as expected, in 1997 the Pet Shop Boys covered Somewhere from West Side Story, released it as a single, and the song was included in the special edition of Bilingual in 1997.
It reached No. 4 in the United Kingdom. The album was produced by the Pet Shop Boys, Chris Porter, Danny Tenaglia, and K-Klass.
