About the album Please

Please in 1986 marked the dynamic beginning of the pop duo from Britain. The album contains four of the most characteristic singles of the Pet Shop Boys: West End Girls, Love Comes Quickly, Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money), and Suburbia. There are no more classic hits from these two amazing musicians.

The Pet Shop Boys had written the songs over the past three years. Their influences were italo disco, synth-pop, but also hip hop, which was slowly starting to spread in Europe.

It has sold 3,000,000 copies worldwide. At the time of its release, it reached No.3 in Great Britain and No.7 in the USA. It is now a classic pop album of the 1980s.
