About the album Not Fragile

The Canadian band Bachman–Turner Overdrive, consisting of the three Bachman brothers and Fred Turner, managed to catch the U.S. off guard in 1974 with their third album titled Not Fragile. The title was a playful comment on the British band Yes's album, Fragile, which had been released three years earlier.

Bachman–Turner Overdrive flawlessly combine boogie forms, rock, and country under the veil of hard music, thus reaching an excellent American hard rock sound of the 1970s. The standout song was the single You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet, which, despite being an excellent composition, does not give the full picture of the album. It is not characteristic of the overall mood of Not Fragile.

Guitarist and composer Randy Bachman also acted as the producer of Not Fragile and deserves congratulations. The album reached No. 1 in the U.S. and Canada, while it reached No. 12 in the UK. Sales of 500,000 copies made it a gold record in the U.S.
