Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino  by Arctic Monkeys

Alex Turner, singer and songwriter of the English Arctic Monkeys, takes on his band's sixth album. He composes the songs, participates in the production of the album along with James Ford, and designs the album cover of Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, which will be released in mid-2018.

The songs were written during the period 2016 - 2018, while the recordings lasted from September 2017 to the beginning of 2018, and the final result resembles a psychedelic and dreamy journey. The truth is that Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino doesn't quite remind us of previous works of the Arctic Monkeys and their always indie rock direction. Here, art rock and pop triumph to the point where the term space pop needs to be used to describe the sound of the record. On the other hand, it's not difficult to discern similarities with several albums of David Bowie from the 1970s, in both sound and song interpretation.

Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino reached No.1 in the UK with its sales approaching 300,000 copies. It was also successful on the other side of the Atlantic, as it reached No.8 in the USA.
