The Walkabouts were an American alternative rock band formed in 1983 in Seattle, Washington. Known for combining elements from American folk and rock music, the Walkabouts released numerous albums with success, particularly in Europe. The band consisted of Chris Eckman and Carla Torgerson, along with other talented musicians who participated in their recordings and live performances from time to time. The Walkabouts released successful albums like New West Motel (1993), Setting the Woods on Fire (1995), and Devil’s Road (1996).
