Acetylene by The Walkabouts
About the album Acetylene
Acetylene by the Walkabouts was released in 2005 and is considered one of the most "wild" and politically charged records of their career. The album marked the return of the Walkabouts to a more electric and noisy sound, away from the previous string arrangements.
The recording of the album took place at Studio Litho and Avast! Recording Co. in Seattle, USA. It was produced by Tucker Martine in collaboration with the band. All songs of Acetylene are written by Chris Eckman. The band's core members participated in the album, with Eckman and Torgerson sharing the vocals.
Although Acetylene as a record did not achieve great commercial success in the USA, the Walkabouts remained popular in Europe (particularly in Greece and Norway), where their records often entered the charts.
