About the album W.A.S.P.
The debut journey of W.A.S.P. begins with the "non-release" of the single Animal (Fuck Like A Beast) due to its title and lyrics. Thus, the song was not included on the album, which was released a few months later, but the discussion that took place about the banned song, which had meanwhile been released as a single in England, only benefited the band.
The majority of compositions belong to Blackie Lawless.
In the U.S., it eventually sold 500,000 copies, and is now among the most characteristic sounds of American heavy metal for the 1980s.
