War And Pain by Voivod
About the album War And Pain
The start of the Canadian thrash metal band Voivod comes with the album titled War And Pain, which will be released by Metal Blade in September 1984. It is a "raw" thrash metal record, which may not be the best sample of the band's work, but it was an album that left much room for the then twenty-year-old Voivod.
War And Pain consists of nine compositions credited to all the group's members, who are also responsible for the album's production. The songs' themes mainly deal with war and its negative consequences for humanity. The original vinyl release featured a distinction between the first and second sides of the record. The first was called "Iron" and the second "Blower".
War And Pain is now a legendary album within the thrash metal fan community. It should be noted that it was recorded in fewer than ten days. In 2004, Metal Blade re-released the album in a 3-CD box set to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the album's release.
