About the album Spellbound
Spellbound is the second studio album by the British heavy metal band Tygers Of Pan Tang and is considered one of the most important records of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement. It was the first album with singer Jon Deverill, who replaced Jess Cox, and virtuoso guitarist John Sykes, who later became famous with Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake.
Produced by Chris Tsangarides, the sound of the album is more refined and "polished" compared to their raw debut (Wild Cat), combining the energy of metal with melodic elements. The album includes 10 tracks, the most well-known of which are Gangland, which has been covered by Kreator, and Hellbound, which has been covered by Heathen.
Spellbound reached No. 33 in Great Britain, while also gaining traction in Sweden, reaching No. 44 on the Swedish chart.
