The Tygers of Pan Tang are a British heavy metal band formed in 1978 in Whitley Bay, Northumberland. They are part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement and became known for their dynamic performances and energetic stage presence. Initially, the band consisted of Jess Cox (vocals), Robb Weir (guitar), Richard "Rocky" Laws (bass), and Brian Dick (drums). With the addition of guitarist John Sykes, the Tygers of Pan Tang released the successful album "Wild Cat" in 1980 and continued with several successful releases throughout the 1980s. Despite lineup changes and challenges in their career, the band remains active and continues to tour and record, keeping the spirit of NWOBHM alive.
