About the album Full Moon Fever

As strange as it may sound, 1989's Full Moon Fever was Tom Petty's debut, even though he's been recording since 1976, but he did it with the band the Heartbreakers.

In reality, it is a collaboration of Tom Petty with his friends from the Traveling Wilburys (George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne) plus Mike Campbell of the Heartbreakers.

The album was a great success for Petty and certainly opened doors for him outside the U.S. In his homeland, it reached No. 3 on the Billboard chart.
