About the album Elephant

The White Stripes duo released their fourth studio album in 2003 titled Elephant. With this album, The White Stripes became a super name. The song Seven Nation Army took on legendary proportions and certainly constitutes a milestone for the broader rock community.

Elephant was primarily recorded in two weeks at Toe Rag Studios in London, which provided the ability for analog recording. This was the secret to the album's success, as its sound reminded of past eras since the digital world had now dominated the music industry.

The 4,000,000 copies that Elephant sold worldwide brought the garage sound back into the spotlight. No.1 in Britain and No.6 in the USA.
