About the album The Stone Roses
The Stone Roses with their self-titled debut in 1989 mark the beginning of a new era in British pop music as they combine dance music, rave, indie guitars, psychedelia with introspective lyrics. The cover is the work of the Stone Roses' guitarist, John Squire.
The album is one of those that laid the foundation for the sound and musical movement of Madchester in the late '80s in Great Britain. The band was formed in 1983, so when the Stone Roses entered the studio, they were well-prepared and confident, and this showed in every moment of the album.
The Stone Roses sold 4,000,000 copies worldwide.
