Emotional Rescue by The Rolling Stones
About the album Emotional Rescue
Emotional Rescue becomes the fifteenth album of the Rolling Stones, released in 1980. It is an album that comes in the wake of the huge commercial success of Some Girls, and after a court case involving Keith Richards for drug possession in Canada, which could have put him in prison for years.
Following the above, the band goes to the Bahamas and prepares many songs from which they select ten, that will make up Emotional Rescue. Some of the rest will appear on their next album. The songs are adapted to the musical trends of the time, with rock, of course, being dominant.
Emotional Rescue reached No. 1 in both Britain and the U.S. In the U.S., it sold 2,000,000 copies. The album was produced by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards as Glimmer Brothers.
