Between The Buttons by The Rolling Stones
About the album Between The Buttons
The fifth studio album of the Rolling Stones came in 1967 with the title Between The Buttons. In the American edition, there were the big hits Let's Spend the Night Together and Ruby Tuesday. The producer of the album was Andrew Loog Oldham. In this record, the Rolling Stones balance between rock and baroque pop, while psychedelia runs through almost every composition of the album. This particular album would seal their collaboration with the Rolling Stones.
The cover of Between The Buttons was a work by Gered Mankowitz, who wanted to take a photo at dawn after a night of recording the band under the influence of drugs. Obviously, he succeeded in conveying what he intended (!)
The album reached No. 3 in the UK and No. 2 in the USA.
