About the album Electric Ladyland
Electric Ladyland is the third and final album released by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. It is a double album that was highly innovative in its sound for its time. It was released on October 16, 1968. Here, Hendrix and his band offer their audience sixteen songs, three of which are covers, and the rest are compositions by Hendrix, who also produced the album.
Electric Ladyland is a monumental album for rock music, where with distinct artistry, blues rock meets psychedelic rock and psychedelic soul, along with funk, all progressing hand in hand towards hard rock. The songs included in this double album began recording in July 1967, and the album was completed in April 1968. The recordings took place in various studios in New York and London. The two official singles from the album were a cover of Bob Dylan's All Along The Watchtower from the previous year and Crosstown Traffic.

In the U.S., it reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart, and its sales have now exceeded 2,000,000 copies. Notable are the 100,000 copies sold in France, where it is among the country's gold albums.
