Super Black Market Clash by The Clash
About the album Super Black Market Clash
Between the release of London Calling and Sandinista!, in October 1980 Epic Records released an EP by The Clash, Black Market Clash, with nine tracks (!) in the USA and Canada.
The record contained tracks that were not found on any of the band's studio albums, but were mainly A-sides and B-sides of some singles. These nine tracks and an additional twelve tracks of similar fate formed the 1993 collection Super Black Market Clash.
The cover of Super Black Market Clash is almost identical to the 1980 EP with the only difference being the colors used. The additional tracks here cover up until the Combat Rock period of 1982. The collection closes with Mustapha Dance, which is a dub version of Rock The Casbah. In its entirety, the album includes recordings from February 1977 to May 1982.
