About the album Funplex

Nobody expected the B-52s to return to the discography in 2008. The Funplex of 2008 was the seventh studio album of the band from Athens, Georgia, and was released sixteen years after their last discographic presence, although they had recorded two new songs accompanying a collection of hits from 1998.

Funplex consists of eleven delightful new compositions, the music of which is credited to Keith Strickland and the lyrics to the other three members of the group. From the album, the songs Funplex and Juliet Of The Spirits stood out as singles, which stylistically, like the other nine tracks on the album, follow the well-known style of the B-52s, a fusion of new wave, dance-rock, and electropop. The production of the album belongs to Steve Osborne. The recordings lasted from September 2006 to November 2007.

The B-52s reached No. 11 on the Billboard with Funplex, making it the album with the second-highest position in their discography on that American chart, surpassed only by the No. 4 of Cosmic Thing in 1989. After Funplex, there has been no other album, despite the fact that the band still exists.
