About the album She's The Boss
She's The Boss was Mick Jagger's first solo album. It was recorded between May and November 1984 and released in February 1985. She's The Boss and its creation was the straw that broke the camel's back in the already strained relationship between Jagger and Keith Richards, as the latter could not accept that the singer of the Rolling Stones did not prioritize the Rolling Stones.
In order to record his album, Mick Jagger gathered an elite group of musicians. Among them are notable names such as Carlos Alomar, Jeff Beck, Pete Townsend, the duo Sly and Robbie, Herbie Hancock, Bill Laswell, and Nile Rodgers. Despite high expectations due to all these names, the album was mediocre, containing nine dance-rock and pop compositions, most of which did not differ from the average pop songs of the mid-1980s.
The expectations for the album were so great that it pushed She's The Boss to No. 6 in the United Kingdom and No. 13 in the United States. In the end, the first single from the album, Just Another Night, is the only one that survived the test of time.
