Dandy In The Underworld by T. Rex
About the album Dandy In The Underworld
On March 11, 1977, T. Rex released their twelfth album titled Dandy In The Underworld. Six months later, Marc Bolan, the soul and force of the band, tragically lost his life, and thus this particular album became the swan song of a unique band in the pop/rock scene of Britain in the 1970s.
Dandy In The Underworld follows the musical style of T. Rex's recent works, that is, glam rock, despite the fact that the glam wave had passed. The album was recorded in studios in Los Angeles and London. Among the many who participated in the album were Steve Harley and Grace Jones on backing vocals. The album was produced by Bolan himself, and all twelve songs on the album were his own compositions. The first single from the album was I Love To Boogie, which was released in June 1976, quite some time before the album.
Dandy In The Underworld reached No. 26 in the United Kingdom.
